We are supporting a global enterprise software provider in the sustainability, risk, and operational performance space to appoint an experienced Strategic Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of high-value enterprise customers. This role is focused on long-term account development rather than new-logo hunting and sits within a complex, consultative SaaS sales environment.

The successful individual will have a strong background selling enterprise SaaS solutions into the Engineering, Manufacturing & Automotive sectors, either through industry-specific software providers or platforms that count Engineering, Manufacturing & Automotive operators among their core customer base. Fluency in German and English and experience and there is regular travelling within the DACH region.

The Opportunity

This role is responsible for owning and expanding a large portfolio of strategic enterprise accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across technical, operational, sustainability, and procurement functions. You will lead account strategy, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across a multi-solution SaaS platform, and manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles in partnership with internal solution and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow a portfolio of named enterprise accounts within the Engineering, Manufacturing & Automotive sector

Develop deep, consultative relationships with senior client stakeholders across DACH.

Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities across a broad SaaS platform

Own the full commercial lifecycle within accounts, from opportunity identification through to contract negotiation and close

Build and maintain detailed strategic account plans, including whitespace analysis and long-term growth strategies

Navigate complex enterprise buying groups involving IT, operations, EHS, sustainability, procurement, and executive leadership

Lead account reviews, renewal planning, and risk mitigation in collaboration with customer success and delivery teams

Work closely with solution engineers and subject matter experts to deliver tailored, value-led proposals

Travel as required across DACH to support key client relationships

Ideal Background

We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:

10+ years’ experience in enterprise B2B sales within a SaaS or cloud-based software environment

Proven experience selling into the Engineering, Manufacturing & Automotive either:

Directly through industry-specific SaaS platforms, or

Via enterprise software providers with significant Engineering, Manufacturing & Automotive client bases

Based in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark or the UK

Demonstrated success managing multiple enterprise accounts concurrently (typically 25-50 accounts)

A strong track record of account expansion, and multi-solution cross-selling

Experience operating in complex, technically led sales environments with long sales cycles

Professional working fluency in German and English

Comfort engaging at C-suite and senior functional leadership level

Strong CRM discipline (Salesforce or equivalent) and structured sales methodology exposure
