Senior Sustainability & Risk Specialist

Our client is seeking a Senior Sustainability & Risk Specialist in the DFW area to lead supplier sustainability assessments, compliance reviews, and risk management activities that support supplier qualification and ongoing monitoring programmes. The role will suit someone with strong experience across sustainability, auditing, compliance, supplier assessment, or risk management, who can confidently review complex information, identify potential areas of risk, and provide practical recommendations to both clients and internal stakeholders.

•A sustainability, compliance, audit, or risk professional with 5+ years of relevant experience
•Comfortable assessing complex information, identifying potential risks, and developing practical solutions
•Experienced in working with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders within a fast-paced environment
•A strong communicator with a genuine interest in sustainability, compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities

•Lead supplier sustainability assessments, compliance reviews, and risk evaluation activities supporting supplier qualification and ongoing monitoring programmes
•Review sustainability documentation, certifications, assessments, audit findings, and related information to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
•Provide guidance and practical recommendations to clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on sustainability compliance and risk management
•Research emerging sustainability requirements, standards, regulations, and industry developments to support the enhancement of products and programmes
•Contribute to the development and delivery of sustainability and risk management services and solutions
•Work collaboratively across different functions to improve processes, enhance the customer experience, and support continuous improvement initiatives
•Contribute to quality and information security management objectives aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001
•Be willing to travel for work, with travel expected to be up to 25%

Education & Training

•Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited university, and/or equivalent professional experience
•Relevant qualifications or certifications in sustainability, auditing, compliance, risk management, or a related area would be advantageous

Knowledge & Skills

•5+ years’ experience within sustainability, compliance, auditing, risk management, supplier assessment, or a related discipline
•Experience reviewing policies, management systems, assessments, audits, certifications, and compliance documentation
•Understanding of sustainability standards, audit frameworks, and supplier risk management practices
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills
•Ability to interpret technical and regulatory requirements and communicate findings clearly to a range of audiences
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
•Experience working with supplier risk, sustainability assessment, or compliance management platforms would be advantageous
