Our client is seeking to appoint a Senior Sustainability Consultant to take on a leadership role within their environmental performance and health & wellbeing team.

Looking for a professional ideally from a built environment and sustainability consultancy background, who has a strong track record in delivering certification-led projects and supporting the growth of technical teams. The position centres on overseeing a specialist group focused on schemes such as BREEAM and WELL, while also contributing to the evolution and expansion of broader certification capabilities across frameworks including Ska, Fitwel, LEED, EDGE and RESET.

From a leadership perspective, the successful individual would be responsible for guiding and developing a team of consultants, ensuring high standards of technical delivery while supporting ongoing professional development and accreditation. This includes managing resource allocation, maintaining quality assurance across project outputs, and working closely with other senior stakeholders to shape team strategy and pipeline growth. The role also involves contributing to client engagement, supporting bid activity, and maintaining oversight of financial elements such as forecasting and project invoicing.

In terms of project involvement, this individual would take ownership of a portfolio of certification-driven developments, providing senior-level technical input at key stages and ensuring alignment with programme timelines and scheme requirements. Acting as a key client interface, they would advise on certification strategies and help navigate complex sustainability requirements across multidisciplinary project teams.

Candidates typically bring an academic background in sustainability, environmental engineering, architecture, building services or a related discipline, alongside 5+ years of consultancy experience within the built environment.

Professional accreditation in BREEAM and/or WELL, alongside demonstrable experience leading projects and supporting or mentoring junior team members.
